Cindy Thompson enjoys the perks of a rural lifestyle in Central Virginia. Having lived in the middle east and travelled most of her younger years, Cindy enjoys staying at home, nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband a Marine Corps Veteran and a pack of canines. Cindy’s pride in her family’s lineage of service to country drives her passion and dedication as part of the team at Coming Home Well. Cindy thrives on creating the platform of conversation to empower others with knowledge through research, education and empowerment to better understand and help our warriors to come home well.

Tyler Pieron

Deputy Director/Board Member

Dr. Tyler Pieron is an Army veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan (and a few other conflicts). He served in the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command as a Special Agent until he was medically retired. Tyler hosts Coming Home Well’s radio and podcast shows and focuses on TBI research and helping veterans wade through the bureaucracy to obtain benefits, especially education.

Tyler used his GI Bill benefits to earn a Master of Science degree in Cyber Security Policy and then a PhD. in Information Assurance after receiving a sabbatical and scholarship from the Pat Roberts Intelligence Scholars Program. Tyler lives with his wife Claire, their 3 children (2 boys and a girl), 3 dogs (Beagle, Boxer and Great Dane), 2 lizards (Bearded Dragon and Leopard Gecko), and many fish, near Charlottesville, VA, where he works with the Department of Defense on cyber intelligence issues.

Donna is a retired United States Air Force Veteran who owns and operates Publishing Pathfinders. She is a former nurse and current author, blogger, podcaster, veteran advocate, and mentor/consultant. She has a passion for connecting veterans/first responders with resources to optimize their transition and help them pursue the next adventure in civilian life. As a self-published author, she is dedicated to teaching first-time authors the process of self-publishing.

She operates the Transitioning Warrior Foundation outreach program which include the Veteran/First Responder Breakfasts, Art Workshops, Holistic classes and Round Table discussions all to help foster those we serve to build resilience and healing.

Roman Bridge

Treasurer/Board Member

Roman is an accomplished professional with a passion for both philanthropy and construction and brings a unique blend of expertise to his role.

Professionally, Roman is the owner and operator of a successful construction consulting business, where he utilizes his extensive knowledge and experience in the industry to provide strategic guidance to clients. Additionally, he holds the position of Head of Business Development for an emerging site work company, where he actively seeks out new opportunities for growth and expansion.

Roman’s dedication to his community and desire to make a positive impact led him to join Coming Home Well. As Treasurer, he meticulously manages the organization’s finances, ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial matters. His financial acumen and attention to detail play a vital role in maintaining the financial stability of the organization, allowing Coming Home Well to focus on its mission of assisting veterans in their transition back to civilian life.

Shonn Richardson

Board Member

Shonn currently resides in Fayetteville North Carolina with her two Great Danes Chloe and Layla. Shonn has one son Andre who has made her a proud grandmother of nine month old Andre Jr who resides in Tucson Arizona. She is a retired combat  Army Veteran who spent twenty-eight years in various locations stateside and overseas. Her many years of experience were dealing in a fast paced Logistical environment. Shonn’s last few years were served as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator and Victim Advocate for the command, which proved to be very rewarding in providing guidance and support to soldiers  during difficult times. Shonn currently volunteers with Wounded Warriors Project and is a member of Merge Vets and Players Organization (MVP). Her hobbies are reading and discount Tuesday movies.

Melissa began my legal career representing healthcare providers in disputes with health insurance companies.  After relocating to the Charlottesville area, she spent 14 years in various compliance, in-house counsel, and investigations roles at two large financial institutions.  Melissa joined a Charlottesville law firm in March 2022, where her focus is primarily on estate planning, special needs planning, and guardianship matters, but she also handles a variety of litigation, real estate (commercial and residential), and business formation matters.  She has a son who attends community college and works part time at the law firm, and a stepson who is a firefighter in Richmond, VA.

As a Veteran spouse, she shares a deep, personal bond with our mission and understands the unique needs of those we serve. Working side-by-side with Art Instructor Tracy Murphy, Cheryl is dedicated to curating meaningful artistic experiences that go far beyond simple activities, providing Veterans, First Responders, and their families a purposeful space for connection and growth.
